Beyond Service: Honoring the Bond Between Working Dogs and Their Humans

Event Information:

Join us for a special livestream roundtable in celebration of Jasper’s newest support groups dedicated to K9, service animal, and emotional support animal loss.

Working dogs give their all — offering safety, guidance, comfort, and companionship unlike any other. When they’re gone, the grief can be especially complex, touching identity, independence, and daily life. This conversation will explore what it means to lose a service or emotional support animal, how to honor their legacy, and ways to navigate the unique layers of this kind of loss.

Our roundtable will feature:

  • Bobbie, a Jasper member who lost her beloved service dog Stetson and continues to honor his legacy through advocacy.
  • Julie, a service dog trainer and advocate, who will share insight into the profound relationship between handlers and their dogs.
  • Grant, Jasper’s grief specialist, offering guidance on how to process this specific kind of loss.
  • Britta, founder of Jasper, sharing why this initiative is so close to our mission and hearts.

At Jasper, our mission is to support anyone navigating grief—creating a safe, stigma-free space to heal, connect, and be understood. This event marks an important step in honoring the extraordinary dogs who have served with love and loyalty, and the humans whose hearts they’ve changed forever.

This event is open to the public, register and rsvp here: link.
